Riding the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR)
From Banff Canada to the border of Mexico along the Continental Divide
2,714 miles (4,368 km) with 168,382 ft of climbing (51,323 m)
Starting around August 15, 2024, my awesome buddy Chad Howe-Watson and I are setting off on the ultimate gravel bike adventure—the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route! It's a journey from the stunning Banff, Canada all the way to sunny Antelope Wells at the New Mexico-Mexico border. It's definitely a bucket-list bike trip!
While the Tour Divide gravel race zooms through this route each year, Chad and I are embracing the slow lane. We’re all about soaking in the sights, meeting cool folks, and making the most of every pedal stroke. Forget speed records and gas station grub—we’re on a mission to whip up delicious Bike-Bites and cook our own meals whenever we can.
Sure, we might have to grab whatever we can find along the way (hello, roadside diners!), but we’re committed to eating whole foods and cooking our own meals as often as possible. It’s not just a ride; it’s a culinary adventure on wheels!
